Type 1 Asbestos Surveys from Enviro Safe
All commercial properties require at least a Type 1 Asbestos Survey to comply with the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations.
We offer Type 1 Asbestos Surveys which are now called an Asbestos Management Survey. The Type 1 survey is a visual survey, so the assessor will require access to all areas of the building, inside and out. The purpose of the survey is to locate all possible asbestos containing materials (ACM's) that are present within the building.
Suspect Asbestos Containing Materials
The assessor will document all possible locations of ACM's, which have to be assumed to contain asbestos until proven otherwise. If it is highly likely that the suspect material contains asbestos, then the presumption that it is present is even stronger.
While there is no legal requirements to test if suspect materials actually contain asbestos, it could lead to difficulties and increased costs in the future if you don't. This is due to the assumption that all likely materials, until tested, will contain asbestos and could result in needlessly higher maintenance costs in the future.
