COMMON ASBESTOS MATERIALS.......
Certain ACMs are more susceptible to damage and therefore release more fibres than others. These particular materials typically contain a high percentage of asbestos. The list below is a general indication of the most common materials which are generally in order of ease of fibre release.

 

 
SPRAYED ASBESTOS & ASBESTOS LOOSE PACKING
e.g. fire breaks in ceiling voids.

PREFORMED LAGGING
e.g. thermal insulation of pipes and boilers.

SPRAYED ASBESTOS
e.g. fire protection in ducts, panels, partitions, soffit boards, ceiling panels and around structural steel work.

INSULATING BOARDS
e.g. fire protection, partitioning.

ASBESTOS PAPER
e.g. insulation of electrical equipment.

ASBESTOS CEMENT
e.g. corrugated roof sheets.
