STEPS TO REMEMBER......

LOCATE:
Check to see if asbestos containing materials are present.

CONDITION:
Check what state the material is in.

PROVE:
Unsure? Assume the material contains asbestos unless evidence is produced to state it does not.

 
SUSPECT:
If there is any maintenance or refurbishment works planned then we recommend that an asbestos survey is carried out with sample analysis to identify any suspect materials.

RECORD:
All findings must be logged and monitored. Ideally asbestos material should be clearly labelled.

MANAGE:
Inform anyone who is likely to disturb the material containing asbestos.

PLAN:
Prepare a plan to manage the risks presented by the material containing asbestos and keep it regularly
updated.
